Dr. Joseph Lantz graduated from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his post-graduate internship training at Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center. He completed general surgery training at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California. Dr. Lantz completed his otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency at The Ohio State University, and became board certified in 1980.
Dr. Lantz, born in Ohio, has called Chattanooga home for the last 24 years. He is a member of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society, American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstruction Surgery, American Medical Association, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, and the Ohio State University Alumni Association. He holds privileges at Erlanger Medical Center, Children’s Hospital @ Erlanger, Erlanger East Surgery Center, Memorial Hospital, and Parkridge Hospital. He is licensed in Tennessee and Georgia, as well as Alabama and Ohio. He treats children and adults.
During his head and neck training, Dr. Lantz developed a strong interest in plastic surgery of the face, head and neck. He followed this interest and completed a year of specialized fellowship training in facial plastic surgery with the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive surgery in Birmingham, Alabama.
